The Town anticipates significant interest in the April 24, 2025, Planning and Zoning Commission meeting and the April 29, 2025, Town Council meeting, in which an application will be considered for a conditional use permit for a religious facility.

Both meetings, which will have public hearings beginning at approximately 7 p.m., will be held in the Council Chambers at Fairview Town Hall, 372 Town Place. Seating capacity is extremely limited, and standing in the Council Chamber will not be permitted. There will be some limited standing-only space in the lobby.

Members of the public who do not wish to address the Commission or Council are strongly encouraged to watch live streams of the meetings rather than attend in person. Streaming links for both meetings will be provided on the meeting agenda and on the Town Website.

Entry to Town Hall

The Town is ensuring safety for all attendees by establishing a single point of entry for the public on the west side of Town Hall, which has wheelchair ramp access. (The west entrance faces Fairview Town Center.) Entry will be divided equally among Fairview residents and nonresidents. Bring a valid driver’s license or state-issued ID to verify residency status.

Members of the public will not be permitted inside Town Hall between the end of business hours – 4:30 p.m. – and when doors will open for the meeting – 6 p.m.

Parking will be available on the north side of the iPic theater and the former Lark’s, 351 Town Place, in Fairview Town Center. The parking lot is directly northwest of Town Hall.

A limited number of parking spaces will also be available in the north portion of the Town Hall parking lot, however, a large portion of the Town’s parking lot will be closed to the public to allow emergency vehicles access.

Admission to Town Hall will only be permitted as long as established capacity remains available. Entry is not guaranteed to anyone

Persons with disabilities may request accommodations, such as wheelchair access, if a request is made at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting to the Town Secretary.

Prohibited Items

No backpacks, personal chairs or stools, strollers, canopies, umbrellas or coolers/ice chests may be brought into the building.

First-Come, First-Admitted

Public seating will be limited to 50 people in the Council Chambers, and that seating will be divided equally among Fairview residents and nonresidents – only 25 residents and 25 nonresidents will have the opportunity to sit inside the Council Chambers. Bring a valid driver’s license or state-issued ID to verify residency status.

Those inside the Council Chambers are not permitted to “save” seats. Seating is only available on a first-come, first-seated basis.

Unless called to speak, members of the public who are inside the Council Chambers must remain seated at all times. No standing will be permitted inside the Council Chambers.

Lobby Space

Once the Council Chambers seats are filled, a maximum of 100 people will be permitted to stand in the building lobby – 50 Fairview residents and 50 nonresidents. Bring a valid driver’s license or state-issued ID to verify residency status.

No seating will be available in the lobby, and chairs may not be brought into the lobby. Those in the lobby will be unable to see the meeting’s proceedings, however, audio from the meeting will be broadcast into the lobby.

After the lobby capacity has been reached, all other members of the public must wait outside.

The meeting will not be broadcast outside the building. Streaming links for both meetings will be provided on the meeting agenda and on the Town Website.

Public wireless internet access will not be available.

No Guaranteed Re-Entry

Members of the public who exit the building during the meeting must wait in line to re-enter.

Signs outside the building will indicate where the entry lines will form.

Addressing the Planning and Zoning Commission and/or Town Council

Speaker request cards will be provided, and the opportunity to enter the Council Chamber and speak will be on a first-come, first-admitted basis. Please watch for and listen to instructions provided to those waiting in line.

Those who wish to make public comments at both meetings must complete a new speaker request card at each meeting.
